Would like to hear what brand of track everyone is using and what the pros and cons are of the different brands out there.

TJD on a Rhino 700, they are heavy but they work well on snow and dirt

I just got a set of Tatou 4s tracks for my Honda Rubicon. They are a bit hard on the fenders, but they are AWESOME!!!!! I heard someone else say "if you've got the nuts to go there, hold on." It is flat amazing where you can go....even with 4 dogs on the back and 18-24" of snow.

my dad just ordered a set of tatou tracks for his grizzley, should be here in 5-7 working days. i cant wait to see how they work, might have to get a set for mine also.

Used my tatou 4s on my Grizz 700 for the first time the other day.
Wish I wasnt on the fence for 2 years before buying, they do what I will need them to do.
They do suck a LOT of gas through your machine though, expect a bit less than half as many kms per tank that you're used to getting.

So now that you've tried them out, if you were just starting out, would you get a 2 or 3 thousand dollar snowmobile, or would you get the tracks? Can they replace your snowmobile?

I'm not into buying junk so no I wouldnt buy a 2-3,000 sled, but thats just me.
Even in the dead of winter here, where creeks run across the roads there is 50-500' stretches of no snow... perfect for tracks.
Lots of areas I run I dont want to have to run for tracks, come out, grab dogs, head back in etc. I tote them with me now. Sounds like its a pain in the ass hauling dogs for no reason on a sled so that definitely wouldnt work for me.
If you NEED a sled, get one.
It comes down to what a guy NEEDS in the end. Not sure what your country is like but our mountains are rocks, no luxury of rolling hills to climb to help gain elevation before the hike, once the cats/bears go up, nothing is going to get you up there except your feet so hill climbing on a sled does me no good.
A quad and tracks wont replace the horsepower a sled offers if you have the ability to gain elevation before you start huffing it on foot.

I was concerned about whether they would climb the steep grades our roads have, they did well in 2' of heavy wet shit.
No, they arent fast but I was hauling 3- 55lbs+/- dogs in a welded aluminum box on the back and climbing well enough. I made it higher than I'm ever going to find a cat this time of year.
The versatility of the tracks is going to allow me to cross our many rivers and cover some serious country in the spring across bare patches wothout worrying about chewing up sled belts and skis.
Many of our roads are already washed out (we're getting 50-60mm of rain per day right now) and wont be fixed until the loggers get back in there in april/may. No way in hell a sled is going to get through these washouts.
I'm real happy so far, I cut a big tom that day out that I wouldnt have found otherwise (even though it wasnt runable) so they increase my access.
You can bet I'll be waiting for him to come back down.

My dads tracks finally came in today, he dropped off his four wheeler and is supposed to pick it up tomorrow. I cant wait to get off from work tomorrow to check them out, if they are as good as I have heard and as good as the Yamaha salesman says i will have a set on order also.

Dad got his tracks yesterday,finally!!!, They look awesome, he went out today, said they were amazing. I am going to take it out tomorrow to see what i think about them, might have me a set in the near future.

Took it out today, those things are unbeleivable, not real fast but will go absolutely anywhere. Got to get me a set now.

Update; Ferryed my buddy and 5 dogs in 3-4' of wet snow today. Did not get stuck once but on one incline I'd already been up sunk down enough to drag on the undercarriage and A arms when coming out of a washed out spot back on top of the 3' of snow.

What I also learned is these tracks put you in stuff you may overlook, stuff you normally wouldnt hunt and sometimes excitement sets in... so when the dogs get kicked out on a track and you go to follow, you WILL sink up to your nuts if the snow is nut deep
Spent 4 hours in nut deep snow 'crawling' on my knees/shins and forearms to keep myself from sinking the full depth with every stride.
However we would have had nothing to run if I didnt have those tracks so they're still the best investment yet!
