Another gotta know.. Its like everytime I build a fire in the fireplace the treacherous beast fights to sit as close to it as possible. If you go sit by the fire he will get in front of you if he is not already beded down laying on his back with feet in the air. Is this a hound thing or is it just him? Dam hound loves the fire more than any dog Ive owned.

Hey, Bill
Trust me its like I worry about him climbing in the fireplace. He would do well on a firetruck.. He would kick the dawg crap outta the dalmation then sit up there on that fire truck with the classic noble hound pose..lol

Bill,
Looks like you been doing some hunting.. lay off those bears some for us little guys
Winters been good the boy has treed a few coon, Ive seen them but its hard to get excited 'bout it. Im after the big cats we have cut a few trails and I know he's treed them but Ive not been able to catch-up to the tree fast enough before the boy bolts. Im still working on him holding at tree he's getting better.
He has determination, heart and gives 100%, 100% of the time. Ive never seen this amount in any dog and he is just a smoking hunter. Tends to get hurt often 'accident prown' ofter tangles with snakes, falls etc. Comes back limping, cut many times.. god knows why. Tend to get high vet bills. All and all he's turned out real well I would not trade him for another hound he's a warrior.
How your dogs doing. From some of your results I would 'a ok'. You guys got some good snow up your way last week...

Robb,
We are surviving up here, me and my pups are not a threat. With all the elk and deer hunting I've done this fall I think I've been more of a bad influence on the dogs than help.
Good to see you've been getting out. A friend from Magdalena gave me a male pup out of my old Washburn walker Baron. The kids sure love him so he gets to stay. The timing of your post was pretty cool, my son was commenting on how "Ed" the pup loves to get right up next to the wood stove or fireplace.
Take care,
