creative telemetry use

I saw coops post on planting a colar in the car of a cheating wife, and it made me think of this other use for them too:
If you are a baiter, you can weld a small peice of wire on your magnets. attach the collar to a tree limb, and run a peice of fishing line from the magnet wire to a large rock laid on top of the bait. Go back to camp and sleep or what ever with your box turned on and tuned in to that collar. When it starts beeping, that is your alarm. Get up and go practice rigging or run him or whatever your goal is. For me, it would be to break them trashy dogs off bear.
Obviously, you could do it with several baits, but would just have to check each channel every so often, unless your unit has a scanner.
Some people also rig up their live traps with telemetry, so as soon as they get in range, they can just check the channel to see if the trap door has closed.
