A Good Day

We had a good day on Saturday. We made two trees. A female and a kitten in the first tree and a small tom in the second tree. We found the first tracks of the female and kitten early in the morning, before light. They were fresh and smoking hot. We decided to drive farther up the road just to see if there was anything else. We found some old tracks, snow was in them. We knew that if we ran the first tracks, we were guaranteed success.
Around 9 in the morning, we let the dogs go. They had to cross the river and up the mountain. It was a several hour hike to get to the tree. Up a steep hillside, thigh high snow, across a draw and up another steep rocky mountain hillside.

This is a short video. Couldn't find the lion in the tree with camera going, but there are pics of the female and kitten.

When we got back to the truck, we decided to go check out the other track. It was a cold track with snow in it and we let the dogs go. We listened to the dogs work the track for a while. Then we took another road that took us above where the dogs were working the track. Pulled out the telemetry to find them. They were treed down the hillside from us. The pic is not very good. He was hard to see.

Then we jumped him and treed him again. The dogs did good.

you might think about submitting some of them for consideration in the 2009 calendar. Great shots.

Try just adding the link to the photo storage you use instead of inserting it here.

The more high resolution photos you submit the better your chances of getting a feature page. The ones with people are only for the collage page. Pick the best sharp photos of the hounds and citters you are hunting. They make good background. Thanx.

looks like you have some fine tree hounds in the first clip. Nice looking cat in the second
