This is a tom that we cut crossing the highway! The actual chase lasted about 45 minutes and it was -10 when we started! The dogs treed him up in a ponderosa in the bottom of a rock bluff! The lion jumped and took off running. One of our older dogs caught him and the lion grabbed him by the mouth and around the belly with his claws then we shot again and the lion jumped up in the rocks and swatted our other dog off then turned around and we got about 8 yds from him to finish him off! It was an intense chase and dogs are pretty sore but wanting some more!

The dog on the top is only 7 months old and made it all the way and had to play catch up once but got back on the trail and smoked it!

Congratulations on a nice tom. Glad the dogs are ok. Some times the results are not good when you stop those big toms on the ground.

i got from Steve Biggerstaff. The female is from a dog name slim and the mom was Kate.

Jube here is a picture of the VJ dog that sure looks alot like that bluetick male of yours. How do you like the dog, is he fast, gritty, good nose, gamey?
