I had a client from Kansas out today. he was able to bring his father in law, and his teenage son that had the tag. as luck would have it we treed a nice tom the first morning of their hunt. all three of them were able to make the tree and kyle was able to make a good shot and drop the cat. I can't imagine everything going through his head at 13 as he pulled the trigger. dad and grampa were proud and they are half way back to kansas already! special thanks to Kenny Jones for finding the track and helping us get it caught. if they were all this easy it wouldn't be huntin.

Ya are you jealouse that he can lift more than you? his dad helped him get it up and we hurried and snapped a pic. if you notice his butt is still on the ground(most of the weight). I never said it was a 200 pounder. nice mature tom though, wish I had killed one that big when I was his age. you gettin anything found up there or are they extinct?

Nope not jealious....was just thinking that kid should be nfl player...I'm not sure if there quit extint yet but I did turn out on a fresh t-rex track the other day but as luck would have my pups switched to a slightly fresher lion track, so we ended up catching the lion....maybe when this snow melts I can get back on the t-rex

Well bplott congrats on the catch! now you need to gaurd that cat so it can reproduce before somebody else smacks it. the t-rex hunting has gone to sh*t down here as bad as the lions up there. when all else fails you could always drive to central utah. they have a very stable lion poulation, I drive there from saint george to hunt it's about the same for you to drive down, and it's the same as driving around all day where the lion hunting sucks as far as the gas money goes. hell maybe we could even meet up in the middle there and do a little hunting.

A buddy and I tagged along on this hunt. What Houndnem isn't telling you is that the Dad is only 5' 2" tall, and the son is only 3' 8". Comparing that lion to the western bobcats that I am used to seeing, it was a monster.
All kidding aside it was a nice mature tom. Houndnem and Kenny did a real good job guiding these guys on a hunt that I am sure they will never forget. His dogs made it look effortless. Wasn't a bad day for me either, was able to attend a memorable day and was even fed a free lunch when we got back to town. His clients were some real nice folks and were very pleased with the experience.
