How can you tell the difference between a traveling tom and one that is not? Do you know before you turn out?

If he is laying in a tree or still standing there I would say he is not traveling. If there are tracks and no cat I would say he is Traveling. :joker   :beer

In general when a lion is traveling he will use roads, trails and natural pathways. If you cut a lion that hits a road or ridgeline and follows it for a long way then leaves still heading in the same general direction he is probably traveling. If you see where he has crossed back and forth, walked a circle or walked both directions there is a good chance he has a kill or a female in the area he is hanging around. Pay close attention to the age of the tracks as a lion can walk through an area, make a bunch of tracks then line out traveling again and be miles away by daylight. A track that is a day or two older than the rest is a good indicator that he is hung up in that area.
