I heard from lower columbia yesterday and Mic said that they have decided that we (Otha) are better set up for the banquet so it would be easier if we did it, since we are already having a field trial that day as well. Lower columbia is still going ahead with their trial on April 9th.

Im sorry you feel that way, but we have found out in years past that having the banquet after a field trial tends to draw more people. Its a win win situation, people come to the trial because of the banquet and vice versa. Im confused as to what you meant that it should not have been posted until after the meeting? We had our meeting last month and LCSA had theres last month as well, so it was decided then who was doing the banquet. The sooner we post when the banquet is, people can start to make plans to attend. In the end its all about the hound council and raising money for them.

LCSA board met and discussed that having less then 6 weeks til banquet, and still no word on the grounds or grange and permits 4 to 6 weeks out for serving food we couldn't get done what needed done. OTHA. Has hosted this many times and has the grounds ready. LCSA is looking at grounds this. Weekend for the 9th of april.

Wished I could make it. I have a USFS chainsaw certification class to attend tomorrow. My mule club does trail work and our club makes money clearing trails in the Wilderness area. Even though we use crosscut saws I still have to get the dang certification. I hope you guys have great weather,a great turnout and have fun! Take a few photos and post them if you can!
