Well we got a nice one this year. 476lbs. dressed. No big tracks at the baits this particular morning so we headed to the farm country. Found some damage and fresh sign in this corn field, so we put down in the corn to see what we could get going. We ran this guy 7 miles and he ended up in the original field we started him in. Wouldn't tree but he didn't fight either. Saw him lots of times but we had a tough time getting our shooter in position. ( shooter was a 64 year old with a broken back and a head injury from getting gored by a bull weeks before the season. He is a tough one though, they thought his tailbone was cracked so they sent him home from the hospital. Later we found out he was mis diagnosed and had a broken vertibra in his back. ) We rotated in several dogs and the whole thing lasted about 2 hrs. We really got lucky because he died right where we were taking pictures, No dragging at all.

I hear that it was pretty funny listening to my five year old all the way to bear camp she kept saying '' Its gonna be a good year, dad" every 10-20 minutes. 15 minutes into the next day we had our first bear treed, and shot by a 60? man with health issuses, with three by the end of the week. Man, i wish she would say something like that ehen im headed out the door kitty-cat huntin
