i am happy somebody give the opportunity to the bloodhounds, they was used in middle age to hunt deer and hogs in Europe why not use them here in USA.

cause most bloodhounds in the US these days trying to hunt and keep up with actual hunting bred hounds is like a fat kid in highschool tryin to be a long distance runner lol
odds are against him to succeed.

I have friends here in NY that use a couple of bloodhounds on yotes and bear. One female has had both bloodhound and majestic pups. the majestics seem to move faster. The original female was not the best hunter in their pack, which includes a variety of tree and running hounds, but she is loud!

ive owned a few bloodhounds and it seems to me when they are young they seem to be decent runners but when they get past 3or 4 years they get to heavy to keep up with the pack good nose slow & steady
all my bloodhounds ended up between 150-200 lbs

I have a bloodhound that i originally got for yotes but ended up coon hunting, rabbit hunting and mantrailing with her instead. I was afraid she might get hit by a car during a chase as we have crossed a few roads during some of our chases. Basicly she will hunt whatever i put her on. I do use her son who's a Majestic- half bloodhound, half treeing walker. He's about 100 lbs and a great jump dog and can hang in there for a couple hours.

I cant imagine by the looks of all the dogs on here that they would hold up very long, I bet they sound pretty.

I tried a couple bloodhounds on bear but they just didnt have the speed, they ended up in a different zip code at the end of the race. One made a couple trees but would come over and sit next to me wondering what all the commotion was all about.

anyone that has a video of a bloodhound running a bear or cat, leading the race start to finish in a mixed pack, has a standing offer to a free breeding to any one of my big game hounds. I don't care if it tree's or not but it should bay ground critters.

They'd be perfect for some of the areas we hunt where we only release a hound or two at a time due to private property, highways, etc. They would have thier place in my kennel. I was thinking about feeding them suckers, but some of my blueticks were voracious eaters regardless of size to keep thier weight up. Thanks for sharin the pics. Paul Conway

Give Andy Sippl a call in Birnamwood,Wisc. he has a top line of hunting bloods. His stud dog Jake can flat fly.Its embarassing to see that big bastard come loping across the road with the walkers and plotts running their guts out.Runs his on bear and yotes a few bobcats too.
