Does anyone use the Tracker Maxima or Complete Reciever?

I have been debating on getting a Tracker reciever. If anything, it would be nice to have a smaller, easier to deal with box while on foot. I have two Strike collars, both with very little use and on the original batteries, just had the switch get sticky on one of them. Not too impressed with the collars, I don't like the battery compartment cover either.
How do the recievers perform?
How do they do with a yagi?

I use the tracker maxima. like it a lot. it is comparable to the PITA yagi antennae. small and compact. I have a truck mount antenna for the maxima. works great if I want to keep reception when not walking and have to move a couple canyons over.
I've never used the strike collars, but I believe the tracker intelo collars are better for the hounding. i have those and marshal powermax collars -- both great collars. JMO

used the maxima for years. without the yagi to me it's useless. without an external ant. I got 3/4 mile tops, with ant, a touch over a mile average. I forgot how to use the maxima after I bought the garmin this fall, love it. I'll probably be singing a different tune with leaves on this summer.

I have a Garmin system and a good ole TRX-64 that works awesome. I was just looking for something that I could track friends dogs if a joint search effort was needed and something that is easier to use while on foot. Maybe I will look at something more like an ICOM.

I wouldn't be without my Tracker Maxima. From my experience ( 15 years) with the Maxima, it works better than Icom & it doesn't have to have the external antenna.Mine without external antenna tracks almost as good as a Wildlife blue box.

I will never buy a Tracker product again. I wouldn't take one if it was given to me. Here is why. A few years ago I purchased two strike collars from Valley Creek on eBay. There were used, but didn't have the slightest blemish anywhere. I've been using the original batteries since then (these were damn near brand new). This last spring bear season I was having trouble picking up a dog. The other dogs were below me and out a ways (line of sight) and were blowing my box up but no Zoie. When we got to the dogs, there she was but the collar light wasn't bleenking. I just e-mailed tracker asking them to repair it (its not under warranty but a minor manufacturing defect) and asked them to stand behind their "quality" Made In The USA product. Their response just explained how they only warranty to one years and I still have to spend $80-120 to have it repaired, and I have to pay for shipping there and back. I honestly could not believe what I read.

F'em, my strikes are going in the garbage and I'm buying some new Johnson 16,000 hr collars. I know they will last for at least 10 years of hard hunting with no issues or batteries. I can buy a new Johnson for what those c@cksuck&rs want to fix my used strike. Anybody want a good and a bad strike collars? I'll make ya a screamin deal on the two....the good one is 216.425 and the bum one is 216.100, both with tree switches.
