IS ANYONE STILL HUNTING THE SAM FAULK LINE OF DOGS? OR HAS THE LINE VANISHED OVER THE YEARS. FROM WHAT I KNOW BACK IN THE 70'S HE HAD A STRONG LINE OF BIG GAME DOGS, BUT HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THAT LINE IN YEARS.

I think pacojack on this board got some of Sam's last dogs. If he doesn't weigh in here you might pm him.

Here is a 3 1/2 year old out of Faulks Blue Mountain Windy x Lightning Ridge Buster on a bear tree. Devin made this cross after he bought Sam's last three females. I think Windy is still alive if I'm not mistaken.

I had 2 females (Chyanne and Holly) out of a dog named Maxine that was owned by Jack Hall at the time and she was out of Sam faulks dogs, they made good, hard bear dogs, they were born in 1996 and I still have her line going in 2 10 month old pups now.

Budd that dogs got too much color to be Faulk bred.LOL I had two that were almost pure white and every Faulk dog i have ever been around in the old days didn't have much color. That was a sure way of seeing one a mile away. They were bear dogs.

Those 3 females I had are all dead now. There are a few pups still out there out of them. Budd has one of them pictured.

Sam Faulk was as hard of bear hunter as they get and raised some top notch bear dog's. I have had a couple dogs out of Sams dogs back in the early 90's and the ones I hunted all did very well on bear and did ok on bobcats but were definitely better bear dogs in my opinion. Sam used to come hunt every year some of the same country that I hunted for several weeks at a time and caught a lot of bear while he was here. My brother in law had one of Sams dogs that he used for a long time and I think is still one of the best dogs he ever owned. I hope you find what's your looking for, I can not recall anyone that I know of around here that are breeding that strain. Good luck!

the only time i met sam was when i was about 9 , me and my dad where bear hunting and ran into sam . he said he had a bait pile up the road so we followed. when we pulled up the dogs struck off the box. he said by name which dog could come off the box. i dont remember the rest of the dogs but the firth was king. when we treed the bear i said it is either realy low or there bayed and i rermember the look he gave me , it was the look of surprise. i also got the look from my dad of proud .the bear was only about 12 feet above the dogs when we got there. i never met sam after that and we only lived 9 miles apart but from what i seen that day he was a drill sargent with his hounds. i have hunted with his line and they are big game hounds.
