if any one is able to get him going in the right direction and show him the ropes I would sure appreciate it and be willing to help out in some way even if it's just some gas money or something to make hooking up easier. he's dying to go coon hunting so come on guys!! some one.
also if there is any younger kids in that area that hunt I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from you too.

It would help if we knew what area in Washington. I'm sure there is someone around that would let him tag along.
Herc14,
Do you own dogs yet?

It is a bad time of the year to try and tag along on a hunt. The next hunting coming up would by bear hunting on timber permits.
Send me a pm with a number for your dad and maybe we can figure something out for you if you are close enough.

You should go to a field trial or water race. That would be a good place to meet and visit with houndsmen and women. A field tial is far from real hunting but can be fun and could be productive for your situation.

A field trial is a great idea. I haven't been to one in about ten years but I went to the one down by Matlock and met some great people and had a pretty good time.

i think its great to see a young man wanting to get into hounds. if you lived closer i would take you. been trying to get my 13 year old cousin to tag along with me but that dad jim playstation junk is a big problem. always been told to keep your kids in church and in the woods and they'll be just fine.
