Garmin trouble?

has anyone had similar problems with the dc 30 collars or any garmin collar not taking a charge. if so what the best solution. has garmin been good to work with on there warranty problems? whats the fastest way to get warranty problems worked on with the least amount of hassel?

Not so much trouble. But have plugged them in and had them take several minutes before they turn on the blue charging light. Usually only when they were not truly dead yet. As in all rechargeable's is better to run them dead before you charge them up so they don't develop A short charge. If it's flat dead then call Garmin customer service. Or find the suitable rechargeable batteries in your area and replace.

Yes. To fix the problem disassemble the receiver via 4 screws on the neck side of the collar. Then pull it apart and inside you'll see the battery. Simply unplug the battery for twenty minutes or more. Plug it in and charge. If this doesn't reset battery and fix the problem you'll need to send it in.

They do have good customer service.

I find that if my collars are cold, they don't start charging. I use the 12 volt chargers and always leave them out in the truck. I find that on a cold morning they sometimes wont take a charge, but if I throw em up on my dash and let the defrost warm em up a little they start charging right away. I am stupid though, in all my travels, i lost my wall chargers, somewhere probably in a motel room somewhere. So, this is the way I do it now, seems to work well.

This is what Garmin is most likely going to ask you to do before they'll issue the Return Authorization. I always recommend doing this before Calling Garmin. If this doesn't fix it then Call Garmin and they'll give you instructions to send it in for repair.

garmin uses lithium ion batteries they should not short memory charge. they might not take a charge if they are left completely discharged for a long period of time. a person should be able to charge them as often as they want without worring about damaging them or shorting the memory charge. my other tools with lithium ion say to charge them once a month when not useing them and after every use.garmin says to store with at least a 1/2 charge on the battery and to fully charge before each hunt.

You probably have already done this but check the contact points as mine started to build up plastic residue on the collar which prevented the charge. I used a tip of a knife and scraped the plastic off and have not had any more charging problems.
