I have had a hard time getting bobcats to tree in ceders they will tree in Pine and any other trees like ash cottonwood etc. I was just wandering is it because they are not tall enough can a coyote climb a ceder or is it just to easy to run around them to elude the dogs.

I think you hit on a lot of points already. Coyotes can get way up in cedars just like some of my crazy tree climbing dogs and they keep jumping out. Many times they do tree a time or two and then just keep running in circles. The short pinion and juniper country is really tough to tree them in unless the conditions are such that the hounds can really put the pressure on them and knock the wind out of them on a jump.
I have found in cottonwood creek bottoms they tree a lot easier and stay when they do.
