Boy I thought I had a long drive to train my dogs at 4.5 hours, Tenn. is a hell of a drive, Guess I can't complain on Friday during my drive to camp! Good luck to both of you, I'm sure by Sunday I'll be ready to give up hunting after my dogs stand on their head all weekend!

TN will not give us a decent training season. We have about 5 days to train and 3 of those are working days. We just now begged our way into that last year. It is a long drive, but it has been worth it every time I have went up.

If you don't mind me asking Wasper and Outlaw, who do you hunt with near Kennan. I train about a half hour away from there.

I have been up twice to the Sheldon/Jump River area with Bill Kochevar. This year I am going up to the Ladysmith area with Jay Waeltz.

Got the dogs tired out! Treed a couple bear and chased a few into sections I can't run in. Couldn't get a pic of one bear, bailed out while I was tying a dog back, the dog was trying to climb the tree and I don't like unnecessary vet bills. Bear probably went 250 to 300. (always bigger without a pic huh).

Looks like you had a better weekend than I did, after getting on 2 walking bears one of my dogs decided to find a porcupine and we spent Saturday night pulling quills!

Sorry for your luck, or lack there of. Friend of mine seems to have the same problem multiple times. Usually, one dog is the instigator, needs to be culled. You know how it is, I'll give him one more chance.
Opening weekend was a rat race, 35 pickups from 5 different crews parked on a 2 mile stretch of road. Needless to say there were dogs barking in every direction imaginable.
Still managed to run some bear though.
