Hey bud I have two american leopard hounds that are tough and really smart and handle great under preassure and still listen to all commands. great in extreme weather and swimming and endurance really all around. My buddy turned me on to them a few years ago and I think they are the way to go.

a guy who knows lots about them Dan Noble if you want a number pm me. Try Leopardcur.proboards27.com and some people will say a leopard cur/cur are the same dog as the american leopard hound/cur yet totally different the american one has a better nose real cold at least on mine.

any specific questions let me know

Being from Nevada I would get a hold of Darrel Fry or Cal Allen in AZ.

If you got your dogs from Dan, they are lep. curs and were registered that way for many years. UKC just made a name change to register with them, now there are what I would call leopard hounds, and those would be the Meeks and Jug lines of leps. Just look at some of the pics. on the ukc site and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I do agree with you on a dry ground cur tho, I would choose the lep. as they have a real good nose on them and the mentalaty to do the job. When I lived in southern Mt. and cat hunted alot it seemed I was the only person in the woods when we didn't have snow, which was about 3/4 of the time. Mike
