Another very interesting piece of the Mtn. Lion biological puzzle.
A couple questions came to mind though.
How did it get into Ontario Canada? Did it pay the toll and use the underpass from Detroit to Toronto?
Why is touted as a Conservationist/Preservationist success?

NO LION IN NORTH EAST. We have tract hundreds of miles with cat hounds no lions. If we had lion here in new york or ct we would have to feed cat food. We do not have enough game to support lions. THAT CAT WAS SOME ONES PET IN GREENWICH CT. And of course the cat has dna from western state. I would love to no what that cat last ate. Boy for a cat thats been around here boy i would loved to treed the first cat in 150 years. I always have people asking me is there cats here NO but i see one every week OK.

are you serious? some eastern states have higher deer harvest than some western states' whole deer population. they could support 3 or 4 times as many cats as western states.

stonesthrow, its the same here in michigan. Lions everywhere but no one can find a track, or get a CREDIBLE picture. Its a bunch of bs!
It's the power of suggestion.....plant a seed about something and sit back and watch people run with it.
Last actual true documentation of a WILD lion in michigan was 1906. Since then around 10 million crappy pics and lots of domesticated cats turned loose.

I read this story the other day online. I keep thinking that it just shows how little people understand lions. There are lions with territories and romers. Some lions travel their whole life. There is no such thing as a state without lions, except Hawaii. They can walk coast to coast and Canada to Mexico and back. Although, I don't think most of them "need" to go that far.

well we do have two documented lion in michigan both in the UP and in the past 4 or so yrs . most recent is the tom cat on trail cam and tracks found in snow confirmed by DNR biologist in detour mi. but most r just that demestics that get out of control and dumped in the north woods. How ever a ex bobcat resercher for the dnr by the name of Archy Reeves claims they where here and known to be in the 1970's and that he had known of one cat that he saw on a few occasions in what is now green timbers outside wolverine mi

just wondering did he have his thumb up? or was he holding a cardboard sign saying "need to get a ride to New Mexico"?
I was just in that area visiting and a friend showed me a photo of one in the back yard of a Denver suburb. He was a nice big one too, they were just trying out the game camera on the local deer eating their flowers.

some yuppies pet you would not belive some of the pets these rich people have on long island and even newyork city all kinds of exotic pets get out or the boot mountain lions have been seen over here probably a pet lynx a kid caught a peronia fish in a local lake the chimp mauled a woman bad not to long ago a guy has buffalo roamin his property alligators in the sewers in the summer alligators livin in basement after the get kicked out for not payin the rent they find them
one summer i caught a boa consticter so big it took me and my brother and a freind to carry i thought it was a world record milk snake the owner caught up with me he lived a few blocks away from were i caught the snake
we have wild sika deer here let go from a preserve in the 50s i dont know why we dont have coyotes or bobcat we kill more deers with our cars than u can shake a stick at out east driven to work you will pass 3 or 4 dead deer easy in the road they have pics of coyotes in central park newyork city
seems like any animal can be seen or run over any were breedin and livin there not so easy i think them coyotes need a ride over the bridge or threw the tunnel
these retards would rather pay 30 grand for a deer fence and hit them with there mercedes then let us hunters shootem great maybe a few wolves might get a ride to newyork
