This topic has been tossed around on this forum in several directions.
Many good discussions have come from it, some not so good ,but all in all it seems most agree that orphaned kittens and sub adult cats always end up in one of the catagories that has been mentioned in here..
They starve a slow crule death...they can not fend for themselves and become a public safety issue because they have been placed on their own before they learn what is required to survive on their own in the wild.
Boot seasons and landowner harvest here in Alberta will see an increase in the number of cats killed in the next year or so...... and I see a bigger problem looking in the window when kittens and subadult lions are orphaned creating a higher public safety risk where there has been little in the past.
This sub adult male was killed after it jumped on a small girl, likely an orphaned lion.
