About 6 to 9 months old. 1 bad experience with a coon at that young of age will leave a lasting impression for a long time.

You want to do some training now wire some Deer glands to a electric fence charger, that will leave a good impression on them and save you some frustration later!

We let ours bark on the cage when ever they get interested in it, but I wouldnt let a pup that age get to close and get mauled. The pup should let you know when it is ready, we had pups start at three months and one now that is six months and just starting to chase.

I WILL PLAY WITH THEM WITH A COON TAIL OR HIDE AT 5 TO 6 WEEKS AND SHOW THEM A COON AT ABOUT 3 MONTHS OLD BE CAREFULL NOT TO LET THEM GET CHEWED ON LIKE STATED ABOVE LET THEM TAKE IT IN AT THERE OWN PACE AND HAVE FUN WITH IT. SOME WILL START YOUNG OTHERS NOT SO YOUNG.

yes sir out of the two pups i have his sister i can kind of see she is going to be a later starter but her brother on the other hand make a drag with a coon hide and hide it his nose goes to work over shoots it back tracks it to where he lost it and finds it agine and finds the coon hide i hid from him smart little guy , i can get his sister and him playing tug o war on a coon tail with every one here , basic obedience he is getting sit and come when called ill be using a whistle for him and a different one for his mom so they can tell who im after . i cant wait a couple more months to see just how he turns out .....I take my male pup out side his nose goes to the ground and he trails the stray cats around the house too .

would it be a good idea when i show them a coon to hold them back from it and let them bark at it from a safe distance tied back
