DC40 Dead after a Week

I know I talked to buddy in a PM about this and I think the best thing is to send it back to Garmin but wonder if people think that if I try to get a new battery if it will fix the collars? Im not even able to charge either DC40 that I have. They worked great and actually had the longest range on all of my collars before each of them died after only a week of us. I never had a range issue or anything like that?....Any thought would be appreciated, only reason I want to go this route is I can fix it faster than Garmin could and it would be cheaper considering these collars were a gift and I dont have the reciept for either, nor do the people that got them for me either. Thanks.

Not sure if its the problem or not but on both of my DC40's I found that the green wire, for charging, became disconnected from the terminal. Not sure if it will fix the problem and not sure how I wouldnt of noticed before. Maybe if it was barely connected before and had a loose connection it wouldnt charge? Who knows. Gonna try to fix one of them myself and if it works great, if not Ill send em back to Garmin. Also Ive always been careful when taking them apart so Im not sure what happened.

I am having the same problem. Dc40 will not turn on or charge. How did you end up fixing yours? Thanks.
