Iam sick of people crying about cameron hounds that they are to slow to catch game so anyone that wants to prove it to me can come here and hunt with me and my camerons . You can stay at my house ride with me and will hunt bobcats for a month and a half every day and will only run day old tracks. Then when were done you tell me if camerons are to slow and not very good a locaten and treeing. And then ill go hunt a month with you on what ever you what to run. The biggest thing is buy a cameron from guys that hunt AND CULL when they should and not from guys that breed for money or just hunt weekens . So for all you wantabes that called me or pm me heres your chance to show me what hounds are the best. Thanks and no hard feelings its just hunting with dogs.

If I could take a month off and go run cats everyday with you I would have better dogs, no matter where they came from.

nice offer to bad most of the people talkin all the trash always live 3000 miles away shawn i see ya from newyork so am i what ya runnin and with what type of dogs i have a cameron female well lets see if shes worth what i payed for her i could of got a few walkers or dogs for free but instead i payed good money for her if ya runnin bear or bobcat i will meet ya
i think 2 hounds vs 2 hounds and two or three days is plenty on the garmins to see whats goin on ya dont need to go for a month one or two cast will even send most people packin
i dont think a good walker can be beat but the realy good ones are rare and dont produce the super stars ya think they will in my eyes if they were why would guys throw in diferent breeds seems like more of a act of destperation
i dont think anyone should brag up any dog unless they have run and spanked other packs of hounds yeah you might have the best dogs on your block how about your county or state
i have learned the most seein 2 or three dogs from 2 or 3 people run together on bear hmm and so have they
some places i know for a fact its easy to tree bear and some places like maine i feel is one of the toughest places to tree bearday in and out
i got a walker and i got a cameron well see who runs with the best of them out front next year and who gets there bags packin its nice to run with guys some times who get to run there dogs every day almost on bear and if they are in shape the garmin tells all no bs there so neighbor im gettin my fat cameron in shape maybe we can both see what these dogs are about and who is buyin lunch

Here it is straight guys camerons may not be the best hounds in the world but they work great for me and a lot of or guys. I like other breeds to but these work best for me i hunt with freinds that have other hounds and for the most part there good hounds. What gets me is guys that bash the shit out every breed they dont have. I think the biggest thing with cameron hounds is the good breeders are getting $800 for a pup and theres a year waiting list. I dont get on here to jump some ones crap about what they run thats up to them and if they are happy then iam happy. So leave the next guy alone and if you have a bad dealing with someone take it up with him not the whole f ing world. So dont down grade a breed . You will never see on here were i have ever jump someone about a breed of hound i dont care for. I dont mind being shit on but when you pull my hair out to wipe with then we will have words.

They are blueticks from the breeding of Del Cameron's dogs. He has a book called "Call of the Hounds". Good book with very interesting stories and quite a few pictures of Del with his hounds. Look it up, definatley a good read. Personally I am a running dog type guy or running dog/plot cross guy so no blue dogs here, but as with any breed there are good and bad even with Camerons. If the person feeding the dog is happy with it then noone should have a problem with it. I think people bragging up their dogs if what gets under peoples skin. Don't see any reason to brag up dogs, just catch game and be happy with what your feeding.

man I been in this game a long time and looking ahead itsure don't look good,I don't gotta lotta time to become the best, age is creeping on me just like Chief Dan George in The Outlaw Jose wales.Time has no bounds and favourites.
Now having said that I got some pretty good stuff bred from evrything in the yard and back to Findlay River,Hickory Nutt Harry some of the stylish stuff and back through trying to linebreed. It worked pretty good and we got the stuff you all want however we don't sell it.We got the secrect recepit and are moving it ahea.
The stuff that didn't make the bear cut moved to new homes where they are loved and cared for and apparentely make good bear dogs.In fact some of the best beardogs in that area.I guess my point is that if you are happy catching 25% of the tracks you believe are catacheable good on ya.I've been moving dogs that 85% and even better.10 years ago I would been happy as hell to get like that dog and now he or they are history. As you move through the stages of your carreer it'sonna blow you away when certain thigs comealong lke your first, skunk, first slick tree, first back tacker etc, these will test you for ptience.
Abear dog that splits when the going gets tough and heads to the box needs to be moved on,you need the best in the box not just the maybes.
Dogs that don't catch when you believe they are catchable need to move on,great dogs catch regardless.I know you guys have conditions and poor sammy gets a booboo et but'Top Dogs Produce"
hances are you don't even know what I'm talking about.
Guys you hear about on here.Joe Conroy,Marty Lightburn, myself
we want to chatch em all and pretty much do.
Bears, bob's,lion's they are caught no excuses,

You know Eric you and a couple of other guys on the BGH site proclaim to have the best dogs in your area's and every time you turn your dogs out you end up with something in a tree. I some how doubt that you actually tree something everytime you turn out but if you do God Bless ya buddy because you have worked your entire life to get to that point. But being that driven do you still enjoy the sport of hound hunting? It appears that nothing counts to you except something in a tree or bust. It sounds like you do not have a relationship, if that is the right word, or even enjoy your dogs. They are just a tool to the end and that is something up a tree. You say you are passing along or culling dogs that tree 85% of the time because they are not good enough for your pack. If this is really true then I know there are many hunters out here in the rest of the world that would be more that willing to take your culls and cast offs.
You know I am sorry I have been taking the long way around the barn to say or ask do you really enjoy hunting. Do you like spending a day/nite in the woods with your dogs and friends for the joy of hunting. This is a sport of hound hunting not a do or die effort everytime you go to the woods. And if that is what it has become for you then I am sorry that so much fun, enjoyment and just being out in nature is being missed by you and the others on this site that die everytime you find an empty tree.
Sorry to take away from the post
