I've turned out on a lot of lion tracks that were following bobcat tracks. can't say I've ever found a kill, but when they come into residential neiborhoods they eat house cats so I don't see why not?

I've come across the remains of coons, skunks, and porcupines, while following lion tracks. Bet they would eat anything that don't eat them first.

yea sure will. ran one the other day that had killed and eaten a bob. the trappers are always complainin of lions eating their high dollar cats and when they catch a lion usually kill them and ditch them to keep them off their lines.

Page 28 of this study shows some pics of lion kills (lions eating lions). Logically, a bobcat would be treated the same.

The answer is yes and if you are running a trapline in lion country you most likley have suffered loss to the big cats. They actually seem to prefer housecats and bobcats to many other things, although they do like gray fox pretty good too. heck if a critter will eat a skunk or a porky these other things probably are pretty fine dining.

I have never actually followed a lion that was actively hunting a bobcat but seen where they have killed and eaten plenty out of traps. coyotes on the other hand lions seem to like to hunt them stalk them and ambush them and kill and eat them and not only around their kills some lions enjoy the game i think. LOL!
