tri-tronics ultra xl

My buddy is selling me an older tri-tronics ultra xl 2 dog system with one collar for 50 bucks. Will G2 and G3 collars work with this system? or is there any difference between collars?
Where can I get a charger because he lost his.
Is this system even worth it because without the charger I don't know for sure if it works.
Any info will help.
