I have a ride on the rail truck dog box and the bottom is the truck bed Ive tried straw and cedar chips but they get messy and sometimes fly out on the freeway wondering what everyone uses in there dog boxes for padding for the dogs thanks

Get some wood under em. Way warmer than any metal bed with straw or chips. Carpet might not be a bad deal either but I haven't used it but thought about lining aluminum dog sled with it before putting straw in.

Use box stall matt, works great them put your bedding on top of it easy to clean that way and gets the dogs off the metal

Not sure if sky is referring to horse trailer floor mat, but either way that stuff is great! It's heavy, but easy to clean, regulates temperature well, and is easy on the feet.

Stall mats work well! Like everyone has said, easy to clean and are thick enough the keep the dogs off metal. Easy to grip and somewhat giving to lay on.
I put carpet on top of mine. Go to a local small business carpet installer and see what they have for scraps from jobs, I have found nice thick carpet to help during the winter. Most places will let you have it, no cost.
