It is legal to hunt coon and bocat with hounds in North Dakota and over the past several year with an increase of cougars in mainly in the badlands areas permits are offered on a very limited basis.
With the extreme cold lately coons are holed up and you won't find much moving until the temperature gets above 28 degrees but they are about to go into the rut so you will see some boar coon movement. Bobcats your best bet is in the badlands areas where there is public land to run on. The big and Little Missouri breaks offer some decent bobcat hunting but you have to compete with trappers and predator callers.
Are you driving truck on the Hess project or working on a rig?

I will be working on a rig I really don't know much about it yet I have worked in the woods all my life and figured it was an opportunity to see what the big talk was all about in ND well I ended up with a job in the middle of cat season so now I been beating down the road for a few days. Thanks

Better check the regs, nonresidents can't take cats in ND. Nonresidents can only hunt fox and coyotes with the $25 furbearer/small game license. A nonresident trapping tag is $250

yep. you see dirt bikes and sleds on the rivers over there all the time. they dont have mountains so they go to the river. they move slow enough that a guy doesnt have to worry about the ice.

I worked out there last fall doing residential construction. Anyway you could look up the owner of Scenic Sports in Williston. He is Hound hunter and i seen on his forum he invited out of towners to look him up. I think his name is Andy. I was going to call him up just never got the chance.
