Just getting close to buying my first leopard from Randy Oller. Any first hand knowledge about these dogs would be greatly appreciated. Talked to Randy a great deal and they seem like they will fit me well. Always been a hound guy,but always wanted to try these dogs. You can get me at
tboswell@avci.net . Really hope they are dogs that want to catch, they don't have to kill it, but they got to make stay. Brains and endurance have to be there too. (Man I'm a picky bugger, it would be nice if they came with a new truck and lots of gas cards too! as long as I'm askin')

Randy is one of the straight up shooters in the leapord family. You can not do any wrong doing business with Randy.

Well I have first hand knowledge of his dogs, as most of the ones I have came directly from him or down from his dogs. These dogs run to catch, have the smarts, sometimes to smart

and they have tremendous endurance, are good tree dogs and really handle good. Alot of these dogs can really cold trail and grub when they have to, but they will pick up their heads and flat smoke a track. These dogs are not perfect but they sure please me because of their hunting ability the way they handle and the brains they have.

I really felt the same way from talking with Randy, nice guy and really seemed like he wants to help. I'm very excited to get this dog. They just seem like they will work very good for me.. Hopefully we can get things worked out shortly and I can tell everyone how she is doing for me. I think I will be the only guy in Mi running these dogs on bear/coyote so wish me luck. Any advice with this specific breed will be appreciated.

I got my four dogs from Randy (two pups last summer) and have absolutely no complaints. Randy has always been helpful, friendly, honest, and sincere.

How well did your pups start for you? At a year were they running with your older dogs well or did they need more time? Do they start trying to cold trail at a young age if they have the nose or do they need some more age before you can look for them to develope in that dept.?

Well the first two I got were a year and a half and had some experience. I lead each of them down a bobcat track and that was all it took for them. I don't know how cold of nose they have because I don't have much experience myself. But this year I took them with a friends hounds and they will take a colder track than his dogs. They seem to be very persistent and keep their noses to the ground on a cold track then pick up their heads and fly when it gets hotter. The pups are not a year old yet so I have not turned them out with the older dogs yet. They seem to be very intelligent, they have treed two raccoons on their own recently, I didn't get to watch though. They were loose at the house so I don't know the circumstances, just found them under the trees. The pups also started rigging deer, not by sight. I was really surprised at some of the tracks they were barking at (pretty old). Now I just need to find them the right track to bark at

. Well I hope that this is a little helpful I am still a beginner in the game so that is the best I can answer.

Slim, Since I can't ever seem to catch you on the phone lately...Abe's 2 older dogs are Chico (Pilgrim III X Lady and Pancho (Razo X Melody). I think Pancho is the new new name that Abe gave the other dog. You remember Chico, I know.

clarka57, just to let you know, if that pup off of Hoot and Shine is a good one, gaurd it well, as there will be no more,I had to put Shine down, she got sick and after almost 600 bucks in vet bills, she just got worse, vets didnt know what is was. Hoot died last fall of kidney failure. I was always going to keep a female pup from her but that didnt happen

I do have 2 female pups from Hark and Hoot that I kept, Hark is a half sister to Shine, but I sure wish I would of kept a pup from Shine. Hark will be having no more pups as well as she was diagnosed with a tumor and at some point I will loose her

Talk about some bad luck! Take care, Nick

Dang Nick, that is some bad luck. I heard about Hoot but I didn't know about Shine or Hark, I hope you have some better luck. I really like the male out of Shine i got. He is smart and has a lot of drive. I think he will be a good one. Well thanks for the message and take care. Abe
