"Houndn'em Bluetics" special needs hunter kills!

got the oppurtunity to take a special needs hunter from conneticut on his first lion hunt. found a track before daylight. on crusty frozen snow walking ontop of melted deer tracks. couldn't see the track after it crossed the road so we just had to trust the dogs. this cat took us all day through some of the nastiest roadless country southern utah has to offer. got up to the top of cliffs where the dogs were treeing and coundn't see a thing. after scolding the dogs for what I thought was false treeing, I climbed to where I could see into a small cave. the cat saw me, looked up at the dogs and took a suicide leap off the 100+ foot cliff. hit the bottom and didn't miss a beat. put another 3 miles in front of us. hiked the dogs around and got down and back on the chase. treed and killed! took us most of the night to hike back out to the truck. hats off to this young man for giving it his all and hiking farther in one day than most people do in a month! special thanks to a fellow houndsman that helped us out on this hunt. me and him forgot all our water and food and got lost on the way out, making ourselves look like compete ametures.lol this was the hunt of a lifetime and alot of hard trailing was good for the dogs too!
