Anyone can attend and enter there dogs, to get points you need to either be a member of one of the clubs Olympic,Northwest,LCSA,Okanogan or have a single membership through the WSHC. Points are used for the year end awards at the banquete.

Yes we will definately have both bear race and treeing contest on both days. How the treeing contest works is pretty basic, there is a "coon" up a tree and a big circle (dont remember exactly how big it is) around the base of the tree, your dog then has 60 seconds to "tree" the coon and he is judged anywhere from 1-100 points based on how well he trees, does he jump alot, bark continuously etc. If he leaves the cirlce then he is disqualified, if the handler/owner talks to him during the 60 seconds he is disqualified, if the dog has any tracking collars or bells on he will be disqualified. The judges can answer any questions you may have prior to turning your dog loose for the 60 seconds. Hope this answers your question, anymore questions then please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to answer them

You dont have to be a member of any club to do any of the races, but if you prefer to join a club there is a little bit of work involoved to join olympic tree hound, make it to 3 meetings or club functions such as the water races, pay yearly dues of 25 for single membership or 30 for a family membership (that includes your yearly dues to belong to the washington state hound council) and be a active participant in club activities, meetings etc. If you would like to join just the hound council without having to join a club then its 15$ a year payable to the wshc treasurer and that way you still get points if your dog does well at any Washington state hound council trial. Hope to see you there and I posted a flyer for the march event on big game, or go to olympics facebook page by clicking on the link below and you can read it there
