I just seen that someone mention that there may be a new Colorado state record lion and was just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. How big?, where about?, and who?

After further investigation and close examination the lion is a large one and possibly will make the all time book but is not even close to matching Brian Williams giant. This lion was taken north of Durango.

Never mind, I found it on google. Muzzy you can google Co. state record or Brian Williams mtn lion. Not as big a I thought it would be. They go by scull size anyway, but I thought it would weigh more than 220. And the old record was held by one of our U.S. Presidents, thats pretty cool.

Brians'lion measured 16" which places it in the very top tier of the record book. Professional Outfitter and long time cougar hunter and record holder Dick Ray said after weighing many huge lions over the years and holding the NM State record for a long time the record lion was a good deal heavier than any lions he had ever seen.

My largest lion ever body size went 227 pounds a day and a half after being klled on a certified butcher's scale and I can tell you the Williams lion was a good deal bigger.
