when using dry ice and rubbing alcohol, how long do you hold the iron in the solution and how long do you hold the iron on the dog? Does this brand show up right away or take a little while to appear? Thanks.

I found the instructions on here and did mine with dry ice and alcohol.
Be patient when waiting for the brand to get cold, let the frost climb all the way up. I found it goes quicker if you crush the dry ice. might take 30 or more minutes but just wait. I did the ribs and shaved it held the brand on for 25 seconds. You can see the welt at first but that will fade. To fully see it wait a couple months for the hair to grow back in. Make sure you have some help around to hold the dog and someone to run the timer. So far mine have all turned out great.

The higher the percentage of the alcohol the better. Also make sure you tap your brand so the slush comes off before placing on the dog.

I have always used dry ice and gasoline. Made sure the iron was covered with frost up the handle. Put rubbing alcohol on whatever part of the dog I was branding then put the iron to em until the frost left the iron. always worked great.

Do you need a different brand for dogs or do you use your cattle brand?

brass or copper, holds the cold better than steel.
