Goodbye to the old man, CH Bolin's Na-Dem-Koyo Blue Mojo

We had to put the old man to sleep yesterday...one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. He and I learned by ourselves about this hound dog 'business', me and Mojo caught our first bobcat when he was 11 months old, it was the first piece of game I had ever seen treed by a dog and also the first piece of game he caught. He went on to be a great dog on bear, lion, cat and fox...coons every now and then, he still always liked cat the best and several times caught cats after being turned out on hot bear tracks, he was also a master at striking cats off the box (I also saw him strike a big bullfrog sitting in the road one night, but thats another story to tell and laugh about later
). He impressed everyone that ever hunted with him, even my friends that were die hards of other breeds said they weren't color blind enough to not own one like him. I will always remember how he would find the person with the gun at the tree and basically hang out in their back pocket yelling loads of bloodthirsty encouragement...no we didn't (don't) kill everything but Mojo sure would have liked it if we did...good thing he didn't have opposeable thumbs cause he was smart enough that he probably could have figured a way to take the gun away from you and use it himself! Just about a moth ago he was sleeping in the living room, everything was quiet and I had to get a gun out of the safe, I pulled it out and opened/closed the action to check it, Mojo jumped up out of a hard sleep bellering his head off, he scared me so bad I almost dropped the gun. Then almost dropped it again laughing at his senile old butt. I had not been able to hunt him the last year and a half as old injuries due to salty old bears were finally plagueing him to the point were he could no longer make out of of the holes. He was still a good friend and would hang out in the house and eat his pig ear while the rest of us loaded up and went hunting. He gave me (well, us, in the last 5 years) 14 years of the priveledge of knowing him and I thank the Lord for the fine creation he made in Mojo. He left me with sons and daughters to carry on with (and in hindsight I wish I would have bred and kept more!), he just recently had a son become Nite CH and has 2 Show Champion offspring and an (almost) Water CH progeny also, as well as the sons and daughters that don't see the UKC world but make their place doing their job in the woods. We had good times and bad times we hated and loved each other at various points in our relationship but my husband and I miss him terribly and look back on the good times. I'm sure he and his son Rage who passed before him are busy giving the critters heck up there and waiting to hear the sound of my footsteps...goodbye Mewnew, we love you.
