I went scouting for deer on July 14 in the trout creeks in s east Oregon.at about 1 pm I glassed up a good size lion under a rock outcropping.I was about 150 yds away,I watched this lion for about three hours,I snapped a ton of photos and filmed it for a while.I am a resident in Nevada and didn't purchase a lion tag for Oregon.I'm just curious to how populated east Oregon is with lions, and if it would be worth buying a tag before I deer hunt there.I know it's not common at all in Nevada to just see a lion layin under a rock.

I will see at least two to three lions every year here in Oregon while out scouting or hunting. In fact I have seen three lions from one glassing piont( one huge Tom and what looked like a large female with a one year old). If you can afford it I would by a tag, we oregonians would appreciate the help and so would the deer and sheep down there in the trout creeks. Best of luck to you,
Myles

Thanks for the posts,I didn't realize how cheap a nonres lion tag is in Oregon.probably because they really get ya with the hunting lisence and tag fees.thanks guys..
