I hate to admit this but I was born in northeren cal in 1957. as a preteen and thru my teen years I enjoyed a year round coon season, mtn lion were considered vermin and don't even remember it being a issue if you killed a truck full of them anytime of the year, same with bears as long as you didn't sell gulls you didn't have trouble. in other words I ran my hounds year round and honestly don't remember talking to a game warden in the woods. its sad to see where California has gone as far as hunting is concerned.
