Haven't hunted there much, heard there used to be a pile of cats in there? Folks from libby hunted it hard a few years back. How is the wolf population?

Wolf pop is fairly high, I think there are probably six packs or so. I think there are still a lot of cats in there. I just need to find someone who is willing to run their dogs through wolf country.

Good luck with that! Not to be an ass but not too many folks out there willing to put there dogs at risk just to have their dogs able to chew on a cat. That being said there are still those who will! You probably wont have to look too hard. Kind of contrdictory I know but some folks are so hell bent on having their dogs chew on something they will risk their dogs to do it? I know I make sure there isn't any dogs around for quite a ways and then I have still had the wolves hear the hounds and come in. So doesnt really matter if they are there at the moment if they hear the hounds its a dinner bell to them. Keep in mind to try to stay pretty close to the dogs even if the houndsmen thinks otherwise the last thing you want is a bunch of dead dogs on your conscious. Just food for thought!

iinvno1, I hear you. Unfortunately almost all of region one is full of wolves. I think that whatever area you are in you will have a high potential for a wolf encounter. I'll be in the wolf trapping class on Saturday. Hopefully that will equal less wolves.
