Just passing on what I have heard from my local bear hunting community. I hear very often about the Smoky Rivers being great for Bear and the Cameron's having the bes nose you could ever have on a hound. They all end up selling their Cameron's for Smoky Rivers because they say the Cameron's generally don't have the speed to end a bear chase in a timely manner.

I run a pack with both Cameron and Smokey River. They are both right there on bear. I'd give the edge to my Cameron dogs on bear because they chew more butt. I'm not sure what you call it - braver?, crazier? or gritty?, but I call it more stiches. Smokey River dogs are right in there putting the bark on the bear while Camerons are tasting it. Both work. Just two different ways. My smokey dogs are out of Buzz Anderson/Les Michelle.

I've been use'n Morris river blue Boomer line for quite a few years with great success! Cold trail,Jump and pressure a bear well and fight and tree as long as It takes. They're all-blue in color and tall leggy hounds with great nose/foot combination...
