Can anyone please tell me what federal or state agencies do government employed hunters and trappers work for? Just curious. Thank you.

In Utah it is the Utah Department of Agriculture's Animal Damage Control (ADC) program. All the programs I've seen require a minimum of a bachelors degree in biology.

I don't believe Ca. has any state hunters or trappers. DFG calls on the fed. trappers who are employed by the U.S.D.A. through APHIS (animal, plant inspection service?). You can go to the USDA web site and get more info, their main office in CA. is in Sacramento.

I am aware that wildlife services (USDA/APHIS) has trappers that are used within the states but they are employed by the federal government. My question was to Clint about the State of Ca. employing its own trappers. I can't find any info. to confirm that. Hopefully Clint will answer and clear it up for me.

the counties

Are there actually counties that employee their own trappers and if so could you name at least one? I know counties fund trappers but that money is given to the USDA for the federal trappers service. Once again, I've never heard of, or been able to find any trapper employed by a government agency in Ca. other than the Wildlife Service guys. Thanks, any info. you might have would be helpful.
