We went up again today and found a female again, for the third time in 4 days. We found her the first day and turned the dogs loose expecting an easy run off of a kill n a fresh snow, not how it worked out. the dogs took it up the hill and made a bunch of circles and by the time they gt it lined out were running it backwards some hw so needless to say she ditched us that time.
The next day went back up she crossed bout the same place but going the other way which was a better way any way so thinkin again it was goin to be another pretty easy run. well we turned the dogs out and i followed them over the first hill and ended up seeing her come out of a cave about 400 yards ahead of the dogs gettting excited thinkin it was a done deal that i was gonna get to another tree today. ha well she lost the dogs again for about 30 min and in that time she covered alot of country, never caught her that day.

Today, we found her again crossing a different road. she was smokin hot figured well the third times the charm. well after seeing the tricks she can pull on the dogs and how much ground she covers every day. i dont think iam going to run her again tell a fresh snow ha..

Hope nobody kills your trainer, for young dogs they are priceless!

Nobody likes getting their ass handed to them, but those kind of deals make better dogs (both young and old). I have a couple bobcats around like that and when i get on roll and catch a few in a row i go and turn out on em. Those hard running tricksters are worth a dozen popups in my opinion as far as getting the most out of your dogs. And you get to hear a lot more barking.

So i was thinking about just this thing this weekend while I was running one of the very smart females we have around here and while I agree with these cats making better dogs do you guys think that these older females that have learned all the tricks about dogs traps humans ect. raise smarter babies?

Yeah iam not complaining at all it was fun all three times and yeah they sure make better dogs out of them. its just the two giant canyons that she has gone in to everytime ha so makes for a long walk to retrive them. but they are nice as long as she only crosses in front of the hunters that think the same as us. Because there is alot of hunters around here in utah that if they cross her and catch her they will kill her.

Im not sure how far away the other road was, but if it is within a couple of miles of the first place you ran her my guess is that she has kittens right there somewhere. Keep a close eye on her tracks she will move them after being chased. If you catch her and she is real nervous, moving around in the tree, jumping trees, and has her mouth open tounge about half out and panting after being treed for a while then she has little kittens stashed away.
