It was a lion for that lucky young boy. He's 14 and I bet he's still walking on cloud nine. Just a side note, it's really hard to see a lion's track when he's walking in same prints as a young colt. Thanks to the dogs we got it lined out. We turned loose at 7:15 am and a little after 3 pm we had him caught. Slushy muddy mess all day. Here is the first glimpse we got of him, before he went underground. The dog on the far right is my boy's 8 month old puppy "Mater". He's going to be famous some day.

Answers: Yes they are my hounds, and it looked a lot like a beaver house, but it was just where a rock was on the creek and a bunch of dead willows were caught in a flood. It was damn tight and got scary for a while.
