we woke up Saturday morning knowing a blizzard was coming in the afternoon or evening sometime. We knew exactly where we were going to try first being one was spotted. We brought in reliable molly, hot nosed chief, sugar and our pup kona. we walked the dogs towards where it had been seen last. We were walking into the wind and sugar seemed to have caught some scent from a long was away. She took off and hit the track first. She opened slightly on it like she usually does on a colder track. The next dog to hit it was Kona, she figured it out for herself on the pond and went on it up and over the hill behind Sugar. Pretty soon those two dogs were singing and moving at a good clip. We watched the gps and saw that chief met up with them. Molly never got on the track and stuck close to us. The three dogs on the track took it for a couple loops and then straight to the north road on a fence line where it was killed. All three were within 150 yards of it when it rolled. It was a quick one, but it was nice to get Kona on a good track and kill right away.

We tried a set of tracks we found going into a good section. Our cold nosed bandit took it but none of the other dogs were interested and it looked like he had a long ways to go until it was jumped hot. We pulled him off that track and just free casted the dogs in to see if we could hit a better track. Dogs got into a couple coon and with deer running everywhere we pulled out.

We headed to a section that we had run 3 in the weekend before. We got one going with our young dog trigger and the rest of the dogs got in on the chase. the took it through a slough, up through some timber and across a road into a section East of the original section. Only a few of the dogs made it across the road, the ran it through a lot of older tracks and fresh deer tracks and the lead dogs were the only ones that made it. They brought it back into the original section where all the dogs made a loss. Kona and a couple other dogs got dumped on the track and the others were picked up. Kona didnt show much interest in the track she was put on, and we still are not sure if that is where it crossed or not. We leashed her and brought here to where we had seen the coyote last. She took the track into the cat tails and popped out right where it had crossed. She took it across the ice into the cat tails where it had held up. We heard her open good and then heard a yelp. She got into a quick fight before it buseted and we got a couple cracks at it. Kona got back on the track and took it over some grass land and back into some cat tails. It busted out of them and went across a big lake and Kona kept on the tracks. Once she reached the other side we had more dogs on the same track and they went with her. They were moving it pretty good but it was getting dark and starting to snow. They ended up running a couple more miles but the drivers couldnt see very far into the section and we could barely see the dogs so we caught them and headed home.
