A Quick hunt on Saturday

Couldn't find any tracks after this one on Saturday, was done hunting by 10:00 AM
the dogs got a good run in though, and they caught him about 100 yards after
i hit him with a few pellets

GOOD JOB. i went for the first time saturday,i coon hunt mostly but going to get into chasen coyotes we are over run with them here in wv, never found any track they where all snowed in. i have a dog that loves to run my brother use to bear hunt her had some young dogs to. we bobcat hunt some to. but around hear they dont tree so its a challange yo gettem. a ggroup of guy around hear are using beagles to chase coyotes they are getting alot of them 3 or 4 a hunt. i cant see myself with beagles thow. so how big a circle they run with hounds? how long is a normal chase?

A lot of factors go into a coyote hunt if your on a bigger male he may not run a whole lot at all but if your on a smaller female she may leave the county we have had them not leave a block of woods and have had them go over 30 miles, we use running walkers obviously the faster your dogs are the more they will push it= the farther they are likely to run, hope this helps :D

Like redbonehunter12 said big males won't always run as far.lately we've ran a few big ones that have have stopped and the dogs have caught, but there have been a few females that have put some miles on our dogs to.It's always good to get some pups on a few long runs though. Usually if we run coyotes in deeper snow the dogs will catch them pretty easy.Thanks for the post and good luck hunting, sorry for the late reply
