THE BELOW IS EMAIL RECEIVED FROM FRIEND LAST EVENING & THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE SHARED.

**Bud S. is friend that purchased Freckles from me & is littermate to my Sue Dog. This was a cross from Jazz (1/2 Running Walker & ½ Bluetick[Vaughn-Utchman Breeding] & Amos (1/2 Running Walker & ½ Bluetick) Both of the older dogs were bred by Johnny B. from Bartlesville, OK area. There were 7 pups in litter and all are good cat dogs, being used on bobcat and lion. I still have only Sue of that litter and they will be five this year. All of this cross are being hunted as cat dogs and doing their part.

BUDS HUNT:

The subject line sounds better than reality but we found a female with kittens today. None were injured. We made three different trees, one of which had two kittens in it. Super experience for the young dogs. You've probably already seen the pictures sent from my phone. The momma and kits are in a good place so we hope to catch the boys again in a few years.

After looking at your website I feel like a celebrity with my little story about the one that got away. I guess it doesn't really matter and my story about catching him, or one a lot like him, in the same area is tainted but I would like folks to know we catch one once in a while. I have some good pictures of that big tom on a disc I'd be glad to send you, if you could use the. I'm just not computer savvy enough to do it by email.

Freckles had a good time today, too. Hope all is well with you.

Bud

The Website is: cathounds-catmounts.com--just getting it going.

Neither of those line of cat hounds. A gentleman named Ted Dawson(?), who had a long line of Running Walkers that were used on fox, bobcat , and coyote. Johnny crossed a good Bluetick female that he has raised a number of cat dogs from, to this line of hounds. Mr. Dawson, when he passed away, had asked that his hounds be given to Johnny. I think Marion received some, but not sure?

How did you all do when Hootie came o hunt with you recently?
We took my pack the first night and started two cats. Had one good race, ending up on a road after about a hour race. The other cat was never jumped and track again ended up on a forest road.

On the second night, Marion took some, I took my young hounds, and Hootie took Joe. We had a 2 hour plus race with majority of time race being from 100 yards to 300 yards from us in a thicket of about 100 acres. That thicket consisted of green briars that stood from 3' to 5' and was tough on the hounds. Ended up down on major creek that took us about 45 to 60 minutes to get to the dogs. They all stayed at same location, so they either caught, put in bluff, or treed? When we pulled up on road, they all started coming out of area to us?

Hootie, Marion, and Greg S. are still down there hunting. After the rain(4-5 inches) they received, they should be doing great.

But, last week in three days, we started 5 cats--caught one on ground--3 were lost on forest roads--& one we don't know?

Heard 4 great races and good dog work was had by all!

Hootie & Marion love the area, and now like I have to do, struggle to keep hounds sound enough to enjoy the fun. My hounds are, as Hootie describes, in great shape. But, after 2-3 days of 5-6-7 good races, well their done for 3-4 days.

Freckles was a pleasure to hunt. While I was working out of town, Hootie kept 5 of this litter and sure had them going right when I got home.

Where are you located in Oklahoma?
