Garmin Alpha TT 10 Update

So, I am new to the site and thought i would share my most recent trouble with the TT 10 Collars .
I bought my handheld and three collars in December of 2012. They have worked really well and I am very happy with all the features and the range of the Alpha as compared to the Astro.
I was reading some forum discussions about the Alpha and collars a week or so ago, and i didn't realize that the collars also had updates available. I had updated my Alpha Handheld a couple of times, but i had never tried the collars. So i opened up the web updater on my mac computer and plugged in my first collar. The update went through it's steps just like everything was fine. So i did the other two collars. when i got done i turned on the first collar and i was surprised by a ringing noise and a flashing red light. from there, i spent the next few days trying to figure out what i had done wrong. I searched high and low for someone else who had heard or seen this combination of lights and beeps on these collars. I found nothing.
I decided to send an email to Garmin Tech support. A couple of days later i got a response that said i should try the updates again and be sure i unplugged the collars using the eject feature on the computer. I tried this and nothing changed. So i was left with collars that wouldn't link up or go into pairing mode.
I then decided to call Garmin. I was pleased when i actually got a live person who spoke english. This person had me do a "battery Reset" which consisted of taking the battery out of the collar and unplugging it, waiting 5 minutes and put it back together. Did all that, nothing changed.
Called back to Garmin assuming i would be requesting a return authorization number to send the collars back for repair. I got another nice lady, who really knew her stuff. I explained the problem to her and she imediately asked me "did you use a mac to update your collars?" I said yes, and she said "thats your problem." She proceeded to inform me that for some reason the webupdater software, even though there is a mac version, doesn't work well when updating the TT10 collars. She told me that if i went and downloaded the webupdater software on a PC then did the updates again on the collars the problem would go away.
I drove to my office and did exactly as she said, and what do you know, It worked.
I was so relieved and i used the collars yesterday and everything worked fine.
So, i thought the least i could do was post about this finding on the forum, in case any of you ever run into this problem.
I would also like to say thank you to Garmin. Thier customer service was top notch. I was able to speak to a real person both times i called and they were able to fix the problem.
Thanks for reading and i hope this saves someone else some frustration.
