As hunters we understand that your pictures are something to be proud of but to a non-hunter pictures even as non-offensive as these are it just enough to turn a non-hunter into a ANTI-HUNTER!

Greenies stealing pictures????

by African » Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:51 pm

Hi Admins, do you have the means to check which IP addresses have downloaded pictures from this site? do you have any privacy disclaimers in place? there has been some irresponsible reporting by a news service here in SA where claims of dogs ripping Leopard to pieces has been sensationalized by pictures taken from this forum. Please advise. I doubt the reporter has any knowledge of this forum unless directed here by a houndsman in the know.

Well I'm no admin here but yes they animal rights people will take any photos and post them for their use...that is why EVERYONE should question every photo you want to share before you hit the post button.
No, the animal rightists are never going to approve of what we do but they are a small (but vocal) group, the ones we need to be concerned with are the 90% of the population out there that knows nothing about what we do and as the old saying goes 'a picture is worth 1000 words' so please people some of the stuff I see posted on here and on youtube makes me cringe especially when I try to place myself in the shoes of somone who has never even heard of hound hunting (other than perhaps through Disney) before.
Anyone can take a certain amount of photos off of the web and use it without express permission if express permission was never a requirement...and there are many animal rights people that view this site and I'm sure some are even members so never take anything for granted.
I have seen some things filmed and posted that should never have been allowed to happen in the first place and then to post it on the internet? Wow...I'm speechless and there is no way I can even try to defend it.
I'm sorry they have stolen your photos but they are quite likely legal in doing so.

Good post Liz, but I might add that I do not think it is legal to post another's pictures, without permission or link or source as to whom took them. I do believe that is the law now.

There isn't a way to see all downloaded images.. Actually every person that views the website and the photo's has downloaded the photo's to look at them in their browser.

If you have some proof that they pulled a photo from this website, I will do what I can to pursue and protect copyright and such. But it's not something that is easy.

Email me the info along with the links and photo's used.

Dunno about the legality of using pictures.

But the main point is Liz you are 100% correct. Think about your actions and your posts. We have a great lifestyle here in hound hunting, and most of the public can respect that, but like in all things in today's world anything can be spun negatively with the right ammo.

I just remember the posts when the new (at the time HSUS) hound video came out and it had video pieces from several peoples hunting videos and as far as I know they were not able to do anything about it.
Those images were actually clean ones...no one will come forward and lay claim to the bullshit that was shown on that video, I wish they would.

Once again we are own worst enemy, time and time again the anti's have use pictures that somebody posted thinking it was something to be proud of and it's come back to bite us in the ASS, last summer in the heat of SB 1221 HSUS showed a bunch of pictures of 13 dogs fighting a bobcat that were pulled from a web site advertising hound hunting from Texas and even though we were told this is legal in Texas it still made us look bad, it doesn't matter if it's legal or not if it CAN be used against us it WILL be used against us!

Ignorance and not getting involved is the biggest enemy to a Houndsmen!

The picture that was lifted from the forum is just a trophy photo and has been used out of context to the story - nothing brutal or extreme. Sensationalist and irresponsible journalism is again being used to rally anti-hunting sentiments. See for yourselves - http://www.noseweek.co.za/article/2918/ ... ge-the-law.

The cover photo is not 1 of mine, but page 2 of the article displays the picture that the journalist freely states was taken from the biggamehoundsmen.com forum.

I guess we can't look at the whole story unless we buy a subscription...yes that is the animal rights people favorite generic line about hounds "tear the animal to pieces".
I'm not sure they even put much thought into making that statement (especially as to if that could even physically happen) but it's just something they say cause it's offensive and sensational

animals were shown in a respectable manor laying to show their nice fur, no fighting scenes shown. looked fine to me!

I hate when dumb@$$es post pics of hounds and yote(or any critter) fighting but there is nothing wrong with these pictures in my opinion.

Nice job on the yotes.

I agree with you, as hunters we do get it but to anti-hunters it fuels there fire and this is what does happen.

these are the first pictures i posted on this website and to me these are very respectable pictures. There is not (blood and guts) as some people might say and these animals were humanely taken and there fur will be handled in by me and taken care of like they should be. There is alot more respect given to these animals than what people think.

just confused on why you are posting this about this picture when there are much worse pictures on this site?

I'm a little confused also Dale. Of all the pics on this site, why this one. I'm guilty of a pic or two that should have stayed off but this is a pretty calm pic compared to others.
As long as we are on the subject, some of these videos should be on topic. These are great videos to watch for us but not for the world to see. Anything put on these sites will effect ALL of us eventually. They want to shut down our wuff season with hounds because they think it will be a big "dog" fight but in the real world that's not the case. I would bet they pull videos off these sites to use for leverage against us but most of these entanglements with critters is really pretty rare but they think it's the norm.
Sorry to rant on your post Chiller...good job on the yotes.

I not just singling out these pictures I’ve posted about several pictures on this and other web sites,
I'm just trying to point out how even pictures like these are being used against us, and like I said before I think they are fine and in good taste with no blood and guts, to me and other hunters these are great but to HSUS they play right into there hands, I have fought the anti's first hand and know what they will do when we fought SB 1221 here in California.
If you look for the topic of Greenies stealing pictures????
and go to his link you can see for yourself what they will do.

I'll be the first one to be cautious on what I post, but these pictures look in good taste to me. Nothing different than posting a picture of a trophy buck in my eyes! I'd even say one of those clever 'yotes is worth a whitetail buck (and I'm a deer hunter too!).

Congrats on the yotes!

mondomuttrner i dont find you ranting on my post at all. I just dont understand what kind of point Dale T is trying to make. I understand that some pictures and video are fuel for the fire when it comes to anties but MOST of the people on this forum are on here for information on hounds, hunting with hounds, stories, laughs, friends, and some pictures. The reason i posted these pictures are for the conversation that follow them. To me pictures are memories that will go on for ever! You can show generations to come your pictures and hope they appreciate them just as much as you had making them, if anyone has a problem with the pictures that are posted on this website im sure that it will come to someones attention that will make them take them down. So Dale T im saying this with all do respect dont comment on pictures that are some of the cleanest ones on this website, for as much time as you have i know you can find another picture to litter up the reply box with a bunch of unneeded comments.

I mean no disrepect at all and like I have said your pictures are great and I will say it again

"I think they are fine and in good taste with no blood and guts, to me and other hunters these are great but to HSUS they play right into there hands"

even the most harmless and good taste pictures can be used against us, if I was a anti and I saw these pictures of five dead coyotes layed out as trophies and knowing they were killed for nothing more than sport and not to feed anybody with the title of "stack em up!!" I would use them in any way I could to do something about it, they just tryed stopping a coyote competition here in Northern California if they would have used these pictures they could have passed them around to every non-hunter, soccer mom, tree hugger and little blue hair with nothing better to do but send in her $19.00 to HSUS to help the poor dogs and cats shown on T.V. to stop that hunt.

I didn't want you to take this as an attack on your pictures or your trophies (they are trophies to me also) I just wanted to point out how everything we post on the internet can and will be used against us.
