Maybe someone can help. I noticed today that my young bluetick had some blood in her stool. I noticed it after she ran a coyote track for several hours and used a lot of energy. when i pulled her off the track and walked home she pooped 3 or 4 times in a half hour. There was some blood in the stool. Other than this, the dog seems herself, comletely healthy. not acting different at all. when she doesnt run hard stool looks normal. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much.

It could be the first signs of gerardia ,but the symptoms of that will continue to make your pup decline. They will not be their selves. Gerardia is common in dogs and mainly hounds, if your blue dog continues to get worse, loose hair, or energy goes way down, the vet can do a blood test for it and get results within an hour, and it doesn't cost that much.

I have had many hounds have blood in their stool after a long hard run.
Should clear up in the next day. If not, I would follow the advice in the other posts.

I also had it from Salmonella after the Diamond recall last year. We were in camp and fed that, and had a few dogs get sick from it...

They key to your answer is that you were running the dog hard. When this occurred after. I'm betting that a few days after there was no longer blood in the stool. It's called colon slap. Dogs will get it when run hard. If not rested and you continue to run hard for days. It will get worse. Seen it a lot over the years myself. Did not know what it was, but knew it was because of running hard. Then a couple of years ago. Was running real hard for a few weeks. One of my lead dogs took a dump that scared the hell out of me. Wish I still had a pic to show you. luckily I have a vet friend and could get a text out. His words, QUIT RUNNING THEM SO HARD!!
If you had not been running hard, and it you seen it for a few days. Then I would start with worms and work up from there.
