Question about feeding dogs

Hey Guys,
As some of you have probably already read about me, I am just geting back into hunting with hounds after about 30 years. I am finally at a place where I can hunt with them on a fairly regular bases like every hound deserves to be hunted. Anyway, like most everything else, things change in the way things are done especially after 30 years. I am seeing all kinds of changes in the hound hunting from whatitwas back then. Everything from the breeding to what is expected of a hound to the way they are trained to their care. Some things I see are real good changes but some I am not sure that old school wasn't better. Anyway, I always liked to give my dogs a lot of protein. Because of the rediculas prices back then and now for these fancy high protein foods, I feed my dogs an average protein dog food. I found it to be cheaper when I can just add protein. We also believed we could get a better protien when we just added it. One thing we used to do is put chicken eggs in their food. I started doing that with my dogs now. My wife has chickens so they get at least a couple eggs a day in their food. But here is where I need some expert advise. Like the Russian astronaut said in the movie, "Armageden", Is thees goood or bad? Maybe some other ideas.
Thanks for the help.
