my first litter of hounds we had thirteen walker x black n tans and they all lived . she was an excellent mother even going out of her way to try to feed them well after weaning. it was way way to many for what i like to deal with.4 would be my magic number if i could pick it.

LOL!
in about 69 or 70 I had a bluetick female that had 19.. only about 12 lived then living where i did they got a bad case of hookworms.. lost them all at about 2 months old.
If you count the dinner plates on Momma, that is all you can expect to save unless you want to bottle feed them often!

I had my first litter in May. Redbone/Redticked English Cross 15 pups. One was still born, and nature took its course on 6 more. Ended up with 8 that are all healthy now. Unless you're going to bottle feed a bunch of them with a litter that big some are bound to not make it.
