Which dog food do you guys feed and how much and how often? I have been feeding twice a day about 2 cups of pedigree and it is high.

I feed black and gold. I feed different amounts to each dog anywhere from 32oz to 46 oz a day. When I get a dog from someone else and start feeding it that stuff it's coat will become shiny in about a week.

I feed once a day and only feed Purina, about a coffee can each. More in cold weather or when hunting hard. Our summers are so hot that the dogs eat much less in the summer and maintain their weight.

There was a thread about this not too long ago.. Just can't find it right now..

I have been feeding the Kirkland Brand Chicken and Rice.. It is running almost $22.00 right now.. Same price for the Lamb and Rice.. I just have a couple dogs who don't like the Lamb..

I feed half a small coffee can twice a day (which a whole can works out to being about 2 1/2 cups a day) In the winter when they are hunting hard they get fed more.. If they stay in Oregon they get bumped up to about 4-5 cups a day, more if they are hunting in CO...

My dogs are slick and shiny and really like it.. I like it the best out of everything I have tried them on...

members mark (sam's brand) high performance for the older dogs, it is 99.99% equivelant to Purina hi PRo and 5-7.50 a bag cheaper, it is going for 16 a 50 pound bag, kirkland puppy for the pups we have.

I feed once a day when not being hunted as close to noon as I can. I'm feeding about 5 cups of Purina Pro Plan High Performance. During kill season they get fed everynight after hunting.

In the "down time" it's hard to beat the Purina Points program whether it's high pro or just the green bag. My dogs are averaging 2 cups a day.

In the heat of the season, my dogs get Black Gold dog food. Glossy, bright coats and tons of energy.

Not to mention, hard black turds.

Purina Pro Plan, Chicken & Rice for me. REAL CHICKEN IS THE #1 INGREDIENT.
Like was said before me, with the points from the bags that you accumulate, you have a lot of options.

If anyone doesn't save the weight circles, you can send them to me.
Take it easy!

I feed country vet performance, Its 24% protien and 19% fat and by the pallet I am getting it for 19 bucks a bag. I hunt cameron Blueticks and it has been the best food I have found for the buck to make them look great and I can reealy put a work load on them on four cups of food a day.

Have been feeding Pzazz hi energy for a while now. it keeps the hounds in good shape- believe it is 26% protein-12 fat. lot less clean-up than with stuff with soybean meal in it..
feed less than 2 lbs a day to these big blues( 2- 19 oz hormel corned beef hash cans that weighs out at 1.85 lbs per day
If it is available there use it.. cost here is comparable with most other brands.(less than $20 for 50 lb bag)

best thing i have found is diamond. key thing is to avoid corn. i also believe in free choice feeding i have seen great results with less consumption. less mess. but the key to free choice is then can never run out of food not for a minute. at first they will eat more but once they learn it is always there they eat little bits at a time all day long wich lets them digest better and eat less over all food. hunting and in the box is ok not to have food but at the kennel a never ending supply. all it takes is one look at an empty dish and you half to start the comsept all over again. self feeders are great for this.
