House cat, Lion that small would have spots

Yep, house cat.

If it was not in Mn I would say maybe Jaguarondi but it could also just be a really small lion, we have fully adult lions here that weigh in at under 70lbs sometimes, both male and female. These are older lions with worn teeth some of them aged over 10 years, sure not going to get any bigger.

The one in that picture looks like it might be under 40lbs though so young sub-adult. Several years ago I had two non-spotted young lions that got inside the orchard about that size. They were under weight for their size, around 20lbs each and had some light barring on the forelegs but absolutely no spots on the body.

From the angle that cat is in relation to the tire and the way its back is arched. I make the lion around 4-5 feet long including tail, small but still way bigger than a house cat.

im with you on that one. if you look at a big picture the tail is way to long for a house cat, black tip on its tail, and the size. im guessing it being 4-5 ft as well with the tail. i have had many pictures of bobcats at that same tire and they are about 2/3 that size.

House cat????? You fella's must grow them big. Chiller your only problem is the poor angle of the cat. Spots fade quicker then people realize, bars stay longer and i feel are a better indicator. I think you got a rarer photo for your area and good job of it a small one but one none the less. Oh and nice multree....

the tire is used as a bait station for coon. gives the hounds something to do in the off season. but i have got pictures of numerous bobcat,bear,and fox. they are just curious to what it is i guess. bear will destroy them bout once a week but notin you can do bout it.

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel pretty dang confident that its a small lion
