Males killing pups

I had a litter of pups 8 weeks ago and gave 2 of the pups to a friend of mine. He keeps his dogs in a big pen and they sleep all in a big insulated dog box. His dogs seemed to accept the pups fine including his male would play with them and the pups would cuddle up to him to sleep. A day and half after he had the pups in there the male killed them and ate the one pup. At my place when I have litters they have free range of my place as soon as they crawl out of the dog boxes till they start wandering around to much. They have access to my males and I never had a problem with a male killing my pups. As anybody else had this happen?

I've never had that happen but i don't let my pups mix with my old dogs until they're a few months old, because i've always worried about that happening.

Sorry for your loss. Keeping hounds is a tough business with highs and lows. JTG

I had a sled dog friend that had a dog that would kill pups and eat them as I recall.
His dogs were all chained with a house but any loose pup in the yard would get it.
He built a pen or two for pups to keep them out of harms way.
This guy had the most awesome team, you could hook them up at his truck and instead of having5 or 6 people hold them back he could ease them to the start line and actually stop them by command, with no help. He ran in the unlimited class so we are talking 12-16 huskeys
on a light racing sled.
